This policy covers the larkward.com website only. The LarkWard app is still in development and is not yet available. It will have its own, separate privacy policy, published before it launches.

Who we are

larkward.com is operated by LarkWard Technologies, Inc. (a Delaware corporation), 285 W Wieuca Rd NE STE 68603, Atlanta, GA 30342, United States. We are the data controller for the information described in this policy. You can reach us at privacy@larkward.com.

The short version

This website sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. We measure which pages people visit using a privacy-preserving analytics tool that does not identify you or follow you around the web. The only personal information we hold is what you choose to send us by email.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see which pages are visited and how quickly the site loads. We chose it specifically for what it does not do:

  • It sets no cookies and writes nothing to your device.
  • It does not fingerprint your browser or build a profile of you.
  • It does not follow you to other websites.

What it records is aggregate and non-identifying: the page address, the referring page, a general country, your browser and operating system family, device type, and page-load timings. Your IP address is used to derive that country and is not stored by the analytics product. This is collected by a small script loaded from static.cloudflareinsights.com, which is the only third-party script this site loads.

Because no cookies or device storage are involved, there is nothing here for you to consent to or opt out of, and no cookie banner to click.

What else this site collects

Nothing beyond the above. There are no advertising trackers. Our web host, Cloudflare, processes standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP address, user agent, and request time) in order to serve the site securely and defend it against abuse. We do not use those logs to identify or profile you, and we do not combine them with any other data.

The fonts, styles, and images on this site are all served from larkward.com itself, so apart from the analytics script described above, loading a page does not call out to any third-party service.

If you email us

If you write to us at any larkward.com address, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to share. We use it only to reply, and to let you know when LarkWard is available if you have asked us to. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing.

We keep correspondence for as long as we need it to handle your inquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards. You can ask us to delete it at any time by writing to privacy@larkward.com, and we will do so unless we are legally required to keep it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to or restrict how we use it. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other US states with comprehensive privacy laws, and individuals in the UK and EEA, have these rights under their local law. To exercise any of them, email privacy@larkward.com. We will not discriminate against you for making a request. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under US state privacy laws.

Children's privacy

LarkWard is a family-safety company, and protecting children's privacy is central to how we build. This website is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact privacy@larkward.com and we will delete it.

When the LarkWard app launches it will have its own privacy policy and a verifiable parental-consent process designed to meet applicable law, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States.

How the LarkWard app is being designed to handle data

The following describes our design commitments for the product we are building. It is not yet a binding policy. The app will publish its own policy before launch. We would rather be on the record early than vague:

  • We keep only recent history, which then auto-deletes. There is no permanent archive of a child's activity.
  • Only the parent, and anyone the parent chooses to approve (such as a licensed therapist they bring in), reads a flagged excerpt.
  • Content may be used in de-identified form to improve our detection models. That is machine processing, and we will state it plainly rather than bury it.
  • The product is transparent by design: it is built so a child knows it is there. It is never a hidden tracker.
  • Family data is never sold.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect information in our care, including encryption in transit and at rest, least-privilege access, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure, but security engineering is the discipline this company was founded on and we treat it accordingly.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the effective date above. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
